EPS RFA Treatment combines Electrophysiology Study (EPS) and Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) to diagnose and treat abnormal heart rhythms, also known as arrhythmias. During an EPS, specialized catheters are guided into the heart to identify the electrical signals causing the abnormal rhythm. If a specific area is responsible, RFA uses controlled radiofrequency energy to destroy the abnormal heart tissue and restore a normal heart rhythm. The procedure is minimally invasive and can provide a long-term solution for several types of arrhythmias.

Before Procedure
- Your cardiologist will review your medical history, medications, symptoms, and previous heart tests.
- ECG, echocardiogram, blood tests, or other cardiac investigations may be performed.

During Procedure
- EPS and RFA are usually performed under local anesthesia with sedation, although deeper anesthesia may be used in some cases.
- The procedure commonly takes 2–4 hours, depending on the type and complexity of the arrhythmia.
- Catheters are carefully guided into the heart to locate and treat the abnormal electrical pathway.
After Procedure
- You will be monitored for several hours after the procedure, and some patients may require an overnight hospital stay.
- Mild soreness or bruising at the catheter insertion site can occur.
